WEB ENABLED

a-Touch is always connected to the internet through a high speed broadband connection.  Hotel guests are able to surf the internet, access web portals like MSNtm, Yahootm or Googletm from the comfort of their own rooms.  They are able to check their emails without the need of a PC.


The solution includes local information content as well as being able to order room service, browse the hotel restaurant menus, or browse external restaurants, menus by cuisine type, maps of how to get there, or take away food delivered to guest’s room (where permitted) .  It will soon be possible to book restaurants directly using a-Touch including in-house restaurants.

 

HIGH VALUE “CONTENT”

Part of the a-Touch implementation is the collection, collation, storage and access to high value information “content” specific to each property.   This information is very important to ensure guests have access to localised search information and to maximise the value of their stay.  For example:-

  • Local business information such as banks, hospitals, pharmacies, bars and more importantly opening times.
  • Suggestions of “Things to do” such as sightseeing tours, shopping trips, leisure activities, what’s on including theatre listings as well as the ability to purchase tickets directly through the a-Touch solution.
  • Perform B2C eCommerce transactions such as duty-free goods from either local department stores or online shops delivered direct to hotel room or departure terminal.
  • a-Touch filters the internet for hotel guests wanting to rent-a-car, book a taxi, check the weather, read home news etc.
  • Deliver Adult Only content such as access to online gambling portals as well as delivering internet-based adult video content to bonafide and validated guests.
